Have You Considered Philatelic Expertizing?
The art and science of expertizing is a challenging and sometimes daunting aspiration. Qualified individuals may shy away from offering their expertise to APEX for a variety of reasons. But we ask that you consider the important contribution you can provide to the hobby by applying to become a member of the APEX committee of examiners.
If you are an APS member or a professional dealer who maintains membership in the APS, ASDA or NSDA and you:
- specialize in a particular country or area
- maintain a reference collection
- have a knowledge of forgeries
- have the ability to offer qualified opinions on condition, repairs and alterations
you can contribute to the benefit of stamp collectors by applying your unique qualifications in the field of philatelic expertizing.
We have over 160 APS expertizers around the world and we're always seeking additional examiners.
You'll learn more about who the expertizers are in "Spotlight on Expertizing", an APS Newsroom series that profiles current expertizers, their areas of interest and how they became interested in this field.
We invite you to apply to become an expertizer especially if your expertise includes one or more of the areas listed below. Please review the list and contact us if you are interested in participating:
