The era of the Stamp Out Cancer auctions has ended!
For 43 years the Quad City Stamp Club (APS Chapter # 249) held auctions of stamps and related material individuals had donated. Over the first 42 auctions a total amount of over $294,000 has been raised for the American Cancer Society. The proceeds were then given to the American Cancer Society in both Iowa and Illinois.
On November 19, 2021, a check for $21,300.00 was given to Stacey Dutton, an ACS representative. The amount on the check comes from the proceeds from the two Stamp Out Cancer auctions held in 2021. This event was done at the stamp club's monthly meeting in Moline, Illinois. The amount is the single largest donation to the American Cancer Society in the Western Illinois area.
Over $315,000,00 was raised from these unique auctions. They were the only events of their kind in the United States.
