In light of the ongoing COVID pandemic, the American Philatelic Society Board of Directors voted unanimously to cancel the 2021 Spring Meeting slated at the St. Louis Stamp Expo. The APS Board also designated the St. Louis Stamp Expo as the site of the 2023 Spring Meeting.
“Each day is a day closer to resuming normal activities,” said Scott English, APS Executive Director, “The quickest way to get there is by remaining vigilant to curbing the spread of the coronavirus.”
The St. Louis Stamp Expo is scheduled for March 19-21, 2021, at the Renaissance Hotel in St. Louis, Missouri. Organizers have developed health and safety protocols for show attendees. For updates, please visit the website.
In 2018, the APS Board of Directors re-established the annual Spring Meeting, which ended in 1998 when AmeriStamp Expo launched as the APS Winter Show. The APS last held a Winter Show in 2019 in Mesa, AZ.
“We applaud the Committee for the health and safety measures they are taking for attendees to the show. We encourage those planning to attend to follow the guidelines and please support the dealers at the show.”
Along with the American Topical Association and American First Day Cover Society, the APS are still planning for the Great American Stamp Show in Rosemont, Illinois, at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center from August 12-15, 2021.
Illinois Governor JB Pritzker recently announced restrictions of groups larger than 50 people through early June under Tier 1. Convention centers will not be operational until Tier 3. No timeline has been announced, but we will continue to update members as possible.
