Getting the Most out of the APRL’s Online Catalog

For both the first-time user and the experienced researcher, the APRL’s David Straight Memorial Philatelic Union Catalog is one of the best philatelic research tools available. From “adhesives” to “zeppelins” the APRL’s online catalog provides bibliographic access to research in the form of articles, auction catalogs, books, exhibits, journals, name sales and special collections. Letters to a War of 1812 General: 1814-1815

Three letters sent to a Pennsylvania militia Brigadier General in 1814 and 1815 are connected by the Battle of Baltimore preparations. The senders were the governor of Pennsylvania, the U.S. Secretary of War and a homeowner in Westminster, MD. The letter dates and content add to the history of what has been called the forgotten war.
